LEWISTON – A funeral Mass for Aurel J. Roy was celebrated Tuesday, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Lariviere celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

At the beginning of Mass, the Pall was placed on the casket by his family, Ronald and Gilbert Roy, Constance Godfrey and Jacqueline Lamiette. Readings were presented by John Godfrey and Constance Godfrey. The Offertory was brought up to the altar by Kirsten Lamiette and Michelle Roy.

Words of remembrance were expressed by Albert Godfrey. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 106, Gilbert, Clarence, Norman, Christopher and Nicholas Roy and John Godfrey. The U.S. Army honor guard played “Taps” and presented our country’s flag to his wife, Lucienne Roy. Following the committal prayers at the cemetery, a reception of fellowship was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lewiston.
