I listen to talk radio a lot, and understand why Don Imus was fired. He was paid a huge salary for one reason: he produced a lot of profit for the stations. After his stupid remark, the sponsors started dropping out.
It is all about money.
Radio and television are infested with rude people who are far worse than Imus. I remember another person I had to turn off because he was just rude all the time. Not funny, just rude and abusive. Is that good for our young people?
I believe Imus is just a sacrificial lamb, but I hope his firing is the beginning of the end of such people.
It’s funny that there never is a word mentioned about the good Imus has done with the Imus ranch, or about how profits from all the products he has on the market go to helping children with cancer.
