AUBURN – The American Network of Community Options and Resources has announced that Robert Hall Jr. of Sabattus, a support professional for 10 years with John F. Murphy Homes Inc., has been named a 2007 Direct Support Professional of the Year for Maine.

Hall was one of 36 state honorees selected from the hundreds of nominations ANCOR received for its Direct Support Professional of the Year contest.

When selecting the honorees, ANCOR considered how the DSPs help people with disabilities build social capital and foster independence, creativity and their level of commitment to the people they support and their families.

John F. Murphy Homes Inc., a member of ANCOR, has been in business for 30 years and employs more than 600 people in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area.
