WILTON – James Prescott of New Sharon was honored Friday at Mt. Blue Agway for achieving his Master Technician certification for John Deere products. An employee of Mt. Blue Agway for the past five years, Prescott is the first one from the Northeast division to receive this top honor in the technician field.

Prescott, who has taken courses through John Deere University for the past three years, has 25 years’ experience as a small-engine technician.

“It’s been a several steps process,” said Andrew Berry, store owner, “last year he achieved advanced technician and has worked the last 12 months to reach Master Technician. We’re proud of him as it takes a lot of effort and time to reach that and it’s good for us to have someone like him. He’s the first in our division to achieve it and for a store in rural Maine, it’s quite an honor to have the first one.”

Luciano Trubiano, customer support manager from Massachusetts, awarded Prescott a plaque of certification and a leather jacket in honor of his work.

Prescott’s wife, Judy, and father, Lewis, are also employees at Mt. Blue Agway.
