AUBURN – Kathleen S. Cammack, 83, of Main Street, Winthrop, died Sunday, April 22, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
She was born in North Monmouth on Feb. 18, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Sophie (Scuik) Klopot.
She graduated from Monmouth Academy, Class of 1944, and had served in the U.S. Navy WAVES during WWII.
She owned and operated the Charcoal House in Winthrop for 10 years and later worked at the Burlington Coat Factory in Manchester, N.H. She loved kids, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Winthrop.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Anita Maxim, in 2005; and a brother, Matthew Klopot, who died on active duty in 1944.
She is survived by a son, Daniel Cammack and his wife, Linda, of Winthrop; a daughter, Patricia Letourneau and her husband, Robert, of Winthrop; seven grandchildren, Shane Cammack, Matthew Cammack, Eric Maxim, Theresa Maxim, Kristi Marschall, Craig Letourneau and Renee’ Keezer; nine great-grandchildren, Astoria Cammack, Kailen Cammack, Alyson Marschall, Lindsay Letourneau, Julia Letourneau, Kyle Keezer, Chase Keezer, Nicholas Keezer and Tyler Maxim.
