AUBURN – The Trinity Jubilee Center, a nonprofit soup kitchen in Lewiston, will host its third annual Empty Bowls Project Sunday, April 29, at the First Unitarian Universalist Church on Pleasant Street.
Dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Local artisans and students donate ceramic bowls which are then purchased by attendees. The purchase of a bowl entitles attendees to a meal of soup, bread, beverage, and dessert, all donated by local restaurants and bakeries. All money raised goes to the Jubilee Center’s soup kitchen. Anyone with a bowl to donate is asked to call 782-5700 or e-mail [email protected].
The Jubilee Center serves five weekly meals – more than 35,000 meals yearly – to anyone in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area who is hungry.
