LEWISTON – In light of recent tragic events in Maine and Virginia, which have prompted discussion about mental illness and community safety, the United Way of Androscoggin County, in partnership with Tri-County Mental Health Services, will host a community information forum to shed light on local services and social service providers.

The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, Business Service Center at KeyBank Plaza, 415 Lisbon St.

The discussion moderator will be Chris Copeland, executive director of Tri-County Mental Health Services and president of the Maine Association of Mental Health Services. Panelists include: Catherine Ryder, program director, Tri-County Mental Health Services; Pam Holland, manager of crisis services, Tri-County Mental Health Services; Colin Pope, a psychiatrist with Tri-County Mental Health Services; Carol Carothers, executive director, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Maine Chapter; Paul Rouleau, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center; and Adam Kelley, Maine State Police Crisis Negotiation Team.
