NORWAY – Darlene Glover, RN, MSN, CEN, nurse manager of the emergency services and the ICU at Stephens Memorial Hospital wrote the cover article published in the April 9 issue of “Advance for Nurses,” a nationwide professional magazine for registered nurses.
The article, titled “Code Purple: When Seconds Count,” details a procedure that occurs at SMH when a patient has potential cardiac symptoms. SMH has implemented a procedure that helps shave minutes off the time from patient arrival at the hospital to delivery of life-saving drugs.
Glover has worked in the emergency department at SMH since 1976, becoming nurse manager of emergency services in 1981. She holds a bachelor of science and a master’s degree in nursing, as well as her emergency nurse certification.
