OXFORD – The Anderson/Staples Post 112, American Legion, is continuing its support of the Dirigo Boys/Girls State American Legion programs.

The purpose of the programs is to provide students completing their junior year of high school the opportunity to participate in a weeklong program that supplements their schools courses in government. Students learn by doing in the program,

Post 112 sponsors Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School students. Delegates this year are Ericka Lindstrom, Molly Cohen, Zach Downing, Justin Frechette, Ian Monzo and Mark Blaquiere

Post Boys State Chairman Joe Bernard said, “We are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive difference in a young person’s life that will last a lifetime.”

This year’s program will be held during the week of June 17 to 21 – Boys State at Thomas College in Waterville and Girls State at Husson College in Bangor.
