DIXFIELD – Ann M. Gagnon, 59, wife of Gary L. Gagnon, died at home in Dixfield, April 22, surrounded by her family, after a long fight with cancer.

She was born Sept. 6, 1947, in Rumford, the daughter of the late William LaPlant Jr. and Theresa LaPlant. She was a resident of Dixfield her whole life and attended Dixfield schools.

She was the cheerleading advisor for Dirigo High School from 1986 through 1991.

She is survived by her spouse of 40 years, Gary L. Gagnon; daughter, Kim Breton and her spouse, Barry; son, Keith Gagnon; grandson, Antonio Joseph Gagnon; her three brothers, Ronald LaPlant of Enfield, Conn., Michael LaPlant of Rotterdam, N.Y. and Gregory LaPlant of Rumford; and three nieces; and one nephew.
