ROXBURY – Michael L. Carey, 28, died Friday, April 20, at Roxbury Pond. He had resided on Knox Street, Rumford and was a lifetime resident of the area.

He was born in Rumford, July 14, 1978, a son of William and Beverly (Vallee) Carey, and graduated from Mountain Valley High School, Class of 1997.

He had worked for the Maine State highway department as a flagger, and recently as a roofer for Hamner and Nails, roofing and siding company in Rumford.

Survivors include his parents of Rumford; brother, Aaron Carey and companion, Heidi Halacy, of Rumford; a sister, Heather Carey of Rumford; his fiancée, Nicole Jamison of Rumford; his aunts, Patty Pealiz and husband, Manuel, of California, Debbie Grey and husband, Herb, of North Carolina, Ann Mayo and husband, Larry, of Rumford, Barbi Vallee and companion, Doug Westbrook, of Rumford, and Alyce Hines and husband, James, of Rumford; and several nephews and cousins.
