Lewiston -Rodney W. Sargent, 67, of Swale Lane, passed away Monday, April 23, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

He was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Mechanic Falls, the son of Wallace and Bessie Sargent. He graduated from Edward Little High School.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army in Germany. He would later go on to work for Pioneer Plastics for the next 33 years, as a supervisor.

He was a member of the Summit Spring Golf Club in Poland Spring. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, traveling with his wife, cruises, and generally anything to do with the outdoors.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Rita, of Lewiston; brothers, Richard Sargent of Auburn, Stanley Sargent and wife, Diane, of Georgia, Roger Sargent and wife, Irene, of New Hampshire; sisters, Marilyn Taylor of Lewiston, Barbara Plummer of Raymond; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Robert Sargent; and nephew, Paul Levasseur.
