NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Portland Sea Dogs could not hold on to a three-run lead as the New Britain Rock Cats rallied in the eighth inning to beat the Dogs, 5-4, Tuesday evening.

Portland’s Clay Buchholz lived up to his billing on Tuesday night, as he shutout New Britain through 5 2/3 innings.

Portland took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Dusty Brown’s single knocked in Jeff Corsaletti.

Cory Keylor led off the fifth inning with a triple to right field. Bryan Pritz drew a walk before Jacoby Ellsbury singled to center field to score Keylor. Corsaletti added an RBI single to score Pritz and put the Sea Dogs ahead 3-0.
