Concord, Mass. -Virginia Croswell Green, 84, died April 22, at Walden Rehab and Nursing Center in Concord.
She was born in Greene, March 6, 1923, the daughter of Arthur and Bernice Briggs, and was later adopted by her stepfather, the late Robert A. Croswell, of Farmington Falls. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1941, and attended University of Maine in Orono, and Bay Path Commercial School in Auburn.
She loved being a full time mother and homemaker. She especially liked caring for infants and toddlers. She enjoyed going to church and singing, teaching Sunday school, and attended several different churches in her lifetime. Her spiritual life was always very important to her. She was an avid reader, history buff, and seamstress. She delighted in all sorts of handwork and projects at home and home decor.
She is survived by her brother, Glendon Croswell of Gorham; a son, Merle R. Green Jr. of Pepperell, Mass.; three daughters, Judith Ann Johnson of Kittery, Dorothy Green of Lowell, Mass., and Patricia Green of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Richard Green, Michael Green, Jennifer Green, Rachel Johnson and Hannah Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Ella Green and Anna Green.
