RUMFORD – Lisbon broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning, scoring five runs on four walks and three Mountain Valley errors to record a 6-2 victory Thursday in an MVC matchup.
Emily Moore struck out eight batters for the Greyhounds and also hit a double to spark the offense. Christy McAuliffe chipped in with two hits. Tanya Martin led the Falcons with two hits, including a triple.
Buckfield 24, Valley 1
BUCKFIELD – Veteran hurler Kasey Farrington struck out 14 and belted a grand slam to lead Buckfield to a 24-1 romp over Valley.
Brittany Wiley also smashed a homer for the Bucks in a well-balanced attack. Lindsey Neal went 5-for-5 for Buckfield while Melissa Taylor tallied three and Amy Reuter added two.
Cony 7, Edward Little 0
AUGUSTA – Chelsea Soule and Allison Cheever combined for four hits and four RBIs to lead Cony to a 7-0 shutout over Edward Little.
Shelby Pelkey allowed just three hits while posting the mound win. Kim Lawrence allowed five hits in the loss for Edward Little (0-2).
