BUCKFIELD – Jamie Henderson fired a no-hitter and struck out nine batters to lead Buckfield to a 13-1 victory over Valley on Thursday in the season opener.

Henderson, Cy Wilkinson, Justin Woodcock and Travis Jordan each hit doubles for the Bucks. Tyler Wemouth chipped in with two hits.

Cony 6, Edward Little 2

AUGUSTA – Cony scored four runs in the fourth inning to propel the Rams to a 6-2 vicotry over Edward Little.

Cony (2-1) got on the board first, scoring an unearned run in the first inning. Scott Wilkinson drove in two runs off a single in the fourth, while Jake LaChance was credited with an RBI single in the fifth.

Kyle Bissier drove in a run with a fifth-inning single for the Red Eddies (0-1), after Edward Little had scored an unearned run in the fourth.

Telstar 8, Mt. Abram 2

BETHEL – Gavin Broomhall smacked a two-run single with the bases loaded in the third inning to bring in what proved to be the winning run as Telstar posted an 8-2 triumph over Mt. Abram.

Kyle Maines struck out five batters and allowed one hit in six innings before Max Meader relieved him in the seventh. Ryan Kimball had three hits for Telstar.

Richmond 5, Rangeley 1

RICHMOND – Richmond scored four runs off of walks and errors to record a 5-1 victory over Rangeley in baseball action Thursday.

Kyle Lancaster struck out eight batters to capture the win for the Bobcats (1-0). Kent Madeira hit a double, while Luke Hammond had two singles for the Lakers (0-1).

Lacrosse

Hebron 14, Hyde 9

HEBRON – John Whelan, Austin Grande, and Bobby Thoits each scored three goals apiece as Hebron beat Hyde 14-9 in a boys’ lacrosse game Thursday afternoon..

Cameron and Roman Gosney each netted a pair of goals, while Charlie Cummings rounded out the scoring effort for Hebron (5-0). John Gendron turned aside 16 shots to preserve the win.

Hyde (0-4) was led by Joey Moore with three goals. Dean Clark and Mike Haseotes had two each.
