AUBURN – Lavonia Ellen Herrick, 71, of Vine Street, Auburn, passed away Thursday, April 26, at her home.

She was born in Wayne on Oct. 20, 1935, the daughter of Edwin L. and Edith H. Nickerson Harrington. Lavonia was educated in the schools of Leeds.

On Aug. 26, 1966, she married Jack L. Herrick in Auburn.

Lavonia was a home maker all her life. She dearly loved young children and cared for several children. She loved to cook and feed her family. She will be long remembered for her biscuits. She enjoyed flea markets and yard sales.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years of Auburn; a daughter, Cheryl E. Hutchins of Auburn; two grandchildren, Daisey and Darren; and a great-granddaughter, Trish Jean; five sisters, Ina Wing Berube, Nancy Wells and husband, Eddie, Lucy Lepage and husband, Roger, Bonnie Caron and husband, Roger, all of Lewiston, and Sharon Haines of Livermore; three brothers, Elbridge and Blaine Harrington, both of Auburn, and Tony Harrington and wife, Medora, of Mechanic Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Lanny Harrington.
