AUBURN – The 43rd annual meeting of the Mount Auburn Veteran’s Cemetery Association will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the Auburn Post 131, American Legion, 426 Washington St.

The agenda will include review of American flag placement for Memorial Day and election of officers for the coming year. A bylaws review and changes will be made to add veterans of Vietnam, Desert Storm and Iraq. Other topics will include a change of meeting dates and items concerning Auburn cemeteries and efforts to be sure all veterans’ graves in Auburn are flagged for Memorial Day.

All officers and members of the Sons of Union Veterans, American Legion Posts 153 and 131 and Post 1603, Veterans of Foreign Wars, are eligible to be association members.

All flags ordered for the Memorial Day celebration can be picked up at Post 131 at that time.

The organization was incorporated on Feb. 27, 1936, and re-organized in 1964. The veterans plot in its charge is in the Mount Auburn Cemetery and was passed on by the Burnside Post 47, GAR.
