AUBURN – Eva Nyberg Conroy, 87, of 21 Woodlawn Avenue, Auburn, died early Monday morning, April 16, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Stoneham, Mass., June 14, 1919, the daughter of Theodore and Emily (Erickson) Nyberg, who were born in Sweden.

The family settled in Massachusetts, but moved to Newton, N.H., in 1925, and later to Auburn in 1932.

She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1937. She entered Farmington Normal School, now known as the University of Maine at Farmington.

She graduated in 1940, and taught in the Auburn school system until her marriage.

In 1942, she married Rupert Dellison Conroy of Everett, Mass., and during the war years taught in Augusta. After the war, she moved with her husband to Malden, Mass., and worked as the childrens’ librarian at the Parlin Memorial Library in Everett, Mass.

Her years should be noted for her love of all children. especially her daughter, son and daughter-in-law and her grandchildren.

She leaves her husband of 65 years, Rupert Conroy of Auburn; her daughter, Susan Jane Conroy, of Portland, Ore.; her son, Robert Conroy and his loving wife, Michelle, of Bethel; and her grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth and Thomas Dellison, who never ceased to make her proud.

She was predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Emily Nyberg; four sisters, Ingrid Spear, Greta Sjostrom, Ruth Noyes, Alma Marie Nyberg (Major, Army Nurse Corps); and a brother, Paul Richard Nyberg.
