LEWISTON – Germaine F. Maheux, 90, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday, April 28, at D’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in St. Malachi, Quebec, on June 10, 1916, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Hinse Fournier.
The family moved to the Maine when she was only a year old and she was educated in Lewiston schools.
She had been a lifelong resident of the community. She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She was also a member of Les Dames De Ste. Anne and Le Cercle D’Youville.
She loved to knit and do needlepoint, where her creative talents were richly rewarded.
She leaves behind a son, Richard and his wife, Louise; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Cecile Michaud; a brother, Real Fournier and his wife, Gerry, all of Lewiston; several nieces and nephews from Quebec, as well as nieces and nephews from the local area.
She was predeceased by her husband, Armand, who passed away in 2003.
Special thanks to the staff at D’Youville for the care and attention given Germaine during her stay. It was no small comfort.
