LEEDS – Barbara Randall was installed as president of the Androscoggin Retired Educators Association at a meeting held at the Leeds Community Church on April 11.
Other new officers are vice presidents, Richard and Yvonne Gross; secretary, Josephine Dupal; treasurer, Mildred Bickford; and corresponding secretary, Marguerite Powers. All officers serve two-year terms.
During the business meeting, Robert Trail from Bonney Staffing Center informed the teachers of the need for seniors as temporary workers in Maine. Assignments are flexible and the pay is competitive. Anyone interested can contact the Bonney Staffing Center.
Following the business meeting and a turkey dinner served by church members, Hugh Keene, senior college instructor, talked about Readers Theater. Then he, Barbara Randall Sally Belisle and Paul Belisle entertained the group with two humorous sketches.
All retired educators are welcome to join the association, which meets five times a year. The next meeting will be in Sept. 12 at the High Street Congregational Church in Auburn.
