BRUNSWICK-After surrendering four runs in the top half of the seventh inning in a tie game, Brunswick belted four doubles mixed in with a pair of singles and rallied for five runs to down Mt. Blue 8-7 in a KVAC baseball clash.

With runners on second and third, Brunswick’s Jon Simmons connected on a two-run double to tie the game. Catcher Kevin Wilson delivered the final blow with his second hit of the game with a two out single scoring Simmons with the game winner.

Mt. Blue’s Joe Gilbert had three hits, including an rbi double in the seventh while Justin Lowe plated a couple of hits with a double and two rbi’s. Curtis Steele and Brad Doherty each doubled for the Cougars (0-3).

Matt Lisconitch and Justin Clark each ripped a pair of doubles for the Dragons (3-0).

Softball

Brunswick 13, Mt. Blue 1

BRUNSWICK – Sloppy defense and an anemic offense were to blame as Mt. Blue fell to Brunswick 13-1 in a Monday softball tilt. Mt. Blue committed four errors in the first two innings contributing to an insurmountable 7-0 Brunswick lead.

Cougar bats were held in check by Jess Timmereck, who allowed just four base hits and struck-out four.

Megan Richard led the Cougars (2-1) with a pair of singles and took the loss on the hill. McKell Barnes paced the Dragons (3-0) with two doubles.

Girls’ lacrosse

Lewiston 16, Camden Hills 8

CAMDEN-Senior Kelsey Rodrigue found the back of the goal seven times and Amie Daniels added another five to lead Lewiston over Camden Hills 16-8 in girls’ lacrosse action.

Rodrigue scored four of her goals in the first half. Olivia Fournier, Michelle Rancourt, Andrea Dibello, and Kristen D’Eramo each tallied a goal in the victory. Margaret Williams led Camden with four goals while their goalie Liza Morong made five saves in the net. Janna Laverdiere turned away 15 shots for the Blue Devils (3-1).
