FARMINGTON – Florida D. Plaisted, 95, of Jay, died Saturday, April 28, at the Orchard Park Rehabilitation & Living Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born, April 1, 1912, in Jay, a daughter of, Alphonse and Dianna (Labbe) Belanger. She attended schools in Jay at Stubbs Mills and Kennedy Corner.

In 1931, she married, Ralph Plaisted. He died on June 12, 1980.

Besides her work as a loving homemaker to her husband and children, she helped with all of the chores on the family farm on the Borough Road and worked at Norwock Shoe and G.H. Bass until the time of her retirement. Before she was a resident at Orchard Park, she lived with her son, George and his wife, Betty, in Jay and during the winter months traveled to Florida with them.

She had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed animals, crocheting, bingo and singing. It was the little things in life that made her the happiest and she will be sadly missed by all who had a chance to know her.

She is survived by her children, Harriett Stansfield, and her husband, John, of Wilton, George Plaisted, and his wife, Elizebeth, of Jay and Frank Plaisted of Jay; five grandchildren, Daniel Stansfield, and his wife, Peggy, of Berwick, Sheila and Sheldon Stansfield of Atlanta, Ga., Cheryl Cole of Sanford and Kevin Plaisted, and his wife, Tracy, of East Dixfield; eight great-grandchildren, Joshua, Christian and Eric Cole, Nicholas Osgood, Brandon and Ashley Plaisted, Michelle and David Stansfield; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Claris Plaisted; a daughter, Georgia Plaisted; her siblings, Rose Ranger, Leo Belanger, Wilfred Belanger, George Belanger, Lucienne Richards, Joe Belanger, John Belanger, Arthur Belanger, Loretta Tardif and Albert Belanger.

Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Orchard Park & Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and care for her during her time there with them.
