MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) – Members of a prep school lacrosse team were shaken up Monday when their bus overturned on Route 9, snarling traffic for miles.

The junior varsity team from the Williams School was headed to a game at Chase Collegiate in Waterbury when the accident occurred just before 3 p.m. in the northbound lanes near exit 9. State police shut down that portion of the road while they worked at the scene.

Several ambulances were called but early reports indicated there were no serious injuries.
