A healthy relationship with you and your boyfriend/girlfriend requires addressing some important issues.

Respect is a big part of a healthy relationship. To have a healthy relationship, you and your boyfriend/girlfriend have to listen to one another. When you’re around each other you act yourself. You respect one another’s boundaries, without challenging one another.

To have a healthy relationship, there should be trust built up with one another. So you or your boyfriend/girlfriend doesn’t have to be scared about you cheating or lying. Honesty ties in with all this too. You should be honest even if it may hurt your boyfriends/girlfriends feelings because it will turn out worse later when they find out the truth.

You and your partner should support one another. When one of you are down, the other should get you back up on your feet ready to go and be happy again. Support one another when something good happens; go out and celebrate.

When you go out on dates, make sure you both make decisions like where you want to go. Make sure everything is equal between sharing your time with your boyfriend/girlfriend and your friends. This is called fairness and equality.

Communication is a big part of a healthy relationship. Your boyfriend/girlfriend and you should talk about your everyday lives and if you have something you want to get out you should tell your boyfriend/girlfriend.
