AUBURN – Erland (Bud) Ashton of Lewiston passed away Monday, April 30, after a short illness, with his family at his side.

He was born in Auburn, on Jan. 18, 1929, the son of Fred and Angie (Field) Ashton. He attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1948.

He served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1951. On Dec. 13, 1958, he married his beloved wife, Jeannine Galipeau. Bud worked as a parking lot attendant for Ward Bros. and then at the parking garage for the city of Lewiston, until his retirement in 1996.

His favorite hobby was model airplanes, which he flew as line-control and radio-control. He belonged to the War Birds Control Line Plane Club, as well as a longtime member of the A.M.A.

After retirement, he enjoyed traveling to visit family members, keeping a perfectly, manicured lawn and flowers, enjoying his wife’s excellent cooking and spending quality-time with his loving wife and beloved cat, Joy-Angel.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeannine; his sister, Eudora (Dodi) Juneau; his two sons, Mark, and his fiancée, Pauline Michaud and Gary Ashton of Washington, and friend, Martha; his daughter, Kim (Ashton) Warf, and her husband, Paul; two granddaughters, Ashton and Amy Warf; his niece and nephew, Karen and Bob Eldridge; his great-grandniece, Shea; his beloved cat, Joy-Angel; and other family members.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Marion (Ashton) Caron.

His family would like to thank the nurses and CNA staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, the loving care of the Home Hospice staff, Dr. Hatfield, his primary physician, the expertise of Dr. Monzel and special thanks to the Rev. Cougle of First Assembly of God Church, Lewiston, for his love and support.
