Club to meet
PARIS – The Extra Mile ATV Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at the town office. New members are welcome.
Chinese auction
HARRISON – A Chinese auction will be held Saturday, May 12, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School to benefit the Harrison Elementary School new playground project. Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and the auction will begin at 4 p.m. There will be a dollar table, 50/50 raffle, and refreshments will be available. For more information, call 583-2357.
Grange supper
OXFORD – A public supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Oxford Grange, Route 26. Menu will include baked ham and assorted pies. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.
VFW meal
PARIS – The VFW Post 9787 South Paris, will host a baked Virginia ham dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12. The proceeds will to toward the Western Maine Veterans’ Advisory Committee for activities at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Paris. Cost for adults will be $6 and $3 for children.
Women’s meeting
PARIS – The Christian Women United will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, May 15, at the First Congregational Church, Paris. Luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. Music will be provided by Diane Muise of Auburn. Those who have not been contacted and would like a reservation may call Pearl Anderson at 743-5724.
Yard, plant sale
OTISFIELD – A yard and plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Otisfield Community Hall, Route 121. Cost for table rental is $10. Proceeds will benefit the Otisfield Scholarship Fund and Responsible Pet Care Shelter. For more information or to reserve a table, call Anne or Lisa at 539-9101, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Gorham centennial
GORHAM, N.H. – The Centennial Celebration Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in the Research Room, Gorham Public Library. An update on the progress of getting passenger train rides for the 100th anniversary of the Gorham Grand Trunk Railway Station will be given.
The committee will also be updated on the outreach to classic and antique cars owners. A model railroad show will be held that day, Saturday, Aug. 11, in the American Legion Hall. There are many other activities being planned.
The committee needs volunteers to be responsible for children’s games, face painting and other activities.

Mystery dinner
PARIS – The Good Shepherd Players will present a mystery dinner production, “A Spirited Night in Swanson Manor,” at the Deering Memorial United Methodist Church, South Paris.
A single performance will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 12.
Tickets are $30 a person and include dinner, show and all the clues necessary to solve the mystery.
Seats are limited. Tickets can be purchased at Books ‘n Things on Main Street in Norway, or from any Deering Church member or reserve a seat by calling 998-5343. Proceeds will to go toward the Deering Memorial UMC Tower Restoration Fund and the ministries of Good Shepherd UMC.
