LEWISTON – Laurier R. Michaud passed away Sunday, April 29, at St. Mary’s Hospital, after a brief illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 28, 1921, the son of Joseph and Bibianne (Mailhot) Michaud. He served in the Army during World War II and went to Waltham School of Watchmaking in Massachusetts.

He operated his own shop for many years, until he went to work for Baribault Jewelers, until the store closed. He then went to work for Republic Jewelry, where he was still employed at the time of his death.

He is survived by his son, Lee; a daughter, Ileen; sisters, Sister Laurianne Michaud, OSU, and Dolores Bilodeau, and her husband, Angelo; and a brother, Gerard, and his wife, Alice.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Raymond (Adrien).
