BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Binghamton’s Nic Jackson broke a 3-3 tie with a three-run homer in the eighth inning to lead the Mets to a 6-3 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs in the series opener Friday night.
Kyle Jackson (2-1) took the loss for the Sea Dogs, losers of two straight and falling 10-10 on the season.
Robert Paulk (1-0) earned the victory, pitching three scoreless innings in relief. Portland hurler Charlie Zink threw six strong innings, lowering his team leading ERA for 1.50. Bryan Prritza and Jeff Natale each knocked in runs for the Sea Dogs.
