BRUNSWICK – Maine’s triathlon season kicks off today with the Ironbear at Brunswick at 8:25 a.m..

More than 500 athletes of all levels from Maine and New England are expected to participate in the event, produced by Tri-Maine Productions.

Triathletes will swim one-quarter mile at the Bowdoin College pool, dualathletes will run two miles. All competitors will bike 12 miles and run three miles through the downtown Brunswick area. Top finishers are expected to complete the course at 9:30 a.m.. The awards ceremony is set for 12:30 p.m. at the Farley Field House.
