RUMFORD – Annette L. Tanguay, R.N., of Rumford, died Saturday, May 5, at the Rumford Hospital.
She was born in Rumford on Feb. 23, 1925, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (St.Pierre) Tanguay. She graduated in 1945 from Stephens High School in Rumford and St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston in 1948 as a registered nurse.
For many years she was employed as a registered nurse at the Rumford Hospital and the Rumford Community Home until her retirement.
Annette was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church.
She enjoyed going out to eat with “The Girls,” bowling, hiking, skiing, walking with her beloved dog, Tashi, spending time and traveling with family and friends, and berry-picking with Evelyn Dyment.
Survivors include two brothers, Theodore “Ted” Tanguay and wife, Charlotte, of Mexico, and Jude Tanguay and wife, Giselle, of Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Noah and Joseph “Clayton” Tanguay; and two sisters, Clara Freeman and Lydia Tanguay.
The family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time, as well as Pam Washington and Virginia Jones for their consistent visits and help.
