LEWISTON – Bates College finished its baseball season by splitting a pair with Fisher College, 5-2 and 1-2.

In Game 1, righthander Griffin Finan limited the Falcons (30-14) to a pair of runs, one earned, on six hits and four walks. The Bobcats (7-22) banged out 12 hits, including three hits apiece from Denis Hogan and Rob Schuler.

In the nightcap, Bates collected 10 hits off Fisher pitching, but stranded 10 runners, including a bases-loaded situation in the seventh inning.

Bates led off the seventh with consecutive singles by Schuler and Hogan. But three ground balls sandwiched by an intentional walk ended the threat.
