AARP to install
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will hold its annual meeting, awards banquet and installation of officers on Monday, May 14, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, Paris.
Lunch will be at noon, and reservations are required by calling Audrey at 743-1643 by noon Friday, May 11. Menu will be honey glazed chicken, green beans and dessert. Cost is $6.50.
The meeting and installation of officers will begin at 1 p.m. Jud Dolphin, AARP state president, will be the installing officer. Speaker will be Carol Emery, who will discuss the Laughter Leadership Program. National Service Day is Thursday, May 10. It is a day to volunteer in a community service.
Bridge play
NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met May 4 at the Fare Share Common, Main Street, when a four-table Howell movement was played.
Finishing first in Flight A were Dick Allen and Pete Cummings with Wally Fricke and Barbara Vanderzanden tied with Nancy Farmer and Pat Quinn for second. Wally and Barbara finished first in Flight B.
There will be another game next Friday, May 11, and all bridge players are welcome. A partner is always guaranteed. For information, call Les Buzzell at 783-4153.
Benefit sale
PARIS – A benefit bake and yard sale with games and fun for children will be held from 9 to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12, at 659 Park St., Paris. Proceeds will benefit the Tracy and Raymond Morin family. Volunteers are being sought as well as donations of new or used items and baked goods. Donations can be sent to any Northeast Bank marked to benefit Tracy Morin and family.
