LEWISTON – Peter E. Bell Sr., 66, resident of Old Danville Road, formerly of Natick, Mass., died early Saturday, May 5, after a two year long battle with Mesothelomia an asbestos related cancer.

He was born in Natick, Mass., Nov. 8, 1940, the son of Gardner and Marion (Brown) Bell. He attended Natick schools, was a 1958 graduate of Natick High School, where he excelled in hockey and baseball. He was affectionately known to his hockey teammates as “Pucker.” After high school he joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a paratrooper and squad leader with the 101st Airborne Division from 1959 to 1961. He married the former Nancy Lee on May 7, 1966.

He was owner and operator for Peter I. Bell Electric in Natick, Mass., for 18 years before retiring to Maine in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Auburn; two sons, Peter E. Bell Jr., of Fresno, Calif. and John G. Bell, and his wife, Deya, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Deborah L. Baker, and her husband, Rick, of Lewiston and Kathleen R. Bell of Auburn; two brothers, Gardner Bell and Charles Bell, both of Homosassa, Fla.; one sister, Beverly Ryan of Homosassa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Karissa, Justine, Kayla and Brendan Bell as well as Kendra Baker.
