LEWISTON – Janice Rose Winslow, 70, of 14 Conway St., Sabattus, died Monday, May 7, at Central Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Berlin, N.H., on Nov. 16, 1936, the daughter of Alfred and Edna McCluskey Lambert. Later the family moved to Fayette, where she was educated and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1954.
On Dec. 31, 1955, she married Hollis Winslow in Sabattus and began a family. Together they raised five children. She earned her licensed practical nursing degree from the Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing.
In the early 1970s, she continued her education at Central Maine Community College having earned her degree as a registered nurse. She worked for many years at Central Maine Medical Center and local nursing homes. She retired from nursing in 1996. She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Sabattus. Her interests included seeing her grandchildren, camping with family, crocheting for her friends and family and enjoying wildlife.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Hollis; three daughters, Lorna Winslow of Sabattus, Holly Dostie, and her husband, Jules, of Mechanic Falls and Stacy Dostie, and her husband, Tom, of Sabattus; her two sons, Jerry Winslow, and his partner, Kelly Davis, of Lewiston and Shawn Winslow of Sabattus; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one sister, Snookie Lambert.
