HUDSON, Mass. – Jeannette L. Custeau, 81, formerly of Auburn, passed away suddenly on May 6.

She was born in Lewiston, on June 29, 1925, the daughter of Hector and Alphilia (Pare) Guay. She attended and graduated from Lewiston schools. On Sept. 1, 1947, she married her husband, Robert “Bob” Custeau, whom she was married to for 58 years prior to his passing in 2005.

She loved tomatoes, cooking and baking her famous pies, gardening and she belonged to a dance club and walking club while living in Massachusetts. But she loved nothing more than spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family, but always remembered for her tender love that she provided to her family.

She is survived by a son, Daniel and Bebie Custeau of Illinois; two daughters, Jackie and James Dow of New Hampshire and Joanne Greenwood of Massachusetts; a sister, Hectorine Provencher of California; six grandchildren, Cheri Johnson, Aimee Chase, Jamie Dow, Robert and Heather Greenwood and Michael Custeau; three great-grandchildren, Daria and Gabrielle Johnson and Clay Chase; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; five brothers and sisters, Carmen Menard, Leome Leger, Ernest Guay, Luma Guay and Medea Hanna.
