Pastor is installed at church in Jay

JAY – An installation service for the Rev. Ira A. Hall as senior pastor of Bean’s Corner Baptist Church was held May 4.

Representatives from the clergy, Christian organizations and the church participated in the service, which was followed by a reception with refreshments and fellowship.

Greetings from the town of Jay were given by Town Manager Ruth Marden. The Rev. Glenn Peterson, pastor of Hope Baptist Church of Manchester, brought greetings from the Conservative Baptist Mission of Maine.

The charge to the church was delivered by John Romano of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and the charge to the pastor was given by Harold Duff, retired Bible teacher and conference speaker.

James McSpadden, a friend and colleague to the pastor, gave a challenge to the Christian community.

Other participants were Jeff Cox, song leader; Thomas Plourde, welcome; McCoy Whitfield, deacon, invocation; Robert Krantz, chairman of the board of deacons and the pulpit committee, welcome to Hall and his family; Leonard MacPhee, pastor of Rangeley Free Baptist Church, prayer of dedication; the Rev. Robert Peters, pastor of Mexico Baptist Church, benediction; and Hall, who gave a response.

Elaine Hall, Hall’s mother, and Don and Anita Waterhouse sang musical selections.

A native of Limington, Hall graduated from Bonny Eagle High School and attended Lancaster Bible College, Pa., graduating with a degree in Bible with a concentration in youth ministry and Christian education.

He previously was associate pastor at Bean’s Corner, with an emphasis in youth work. He is also director of Camp Berea, a teen summer youth camp in North Turner, and has been a frequent speaker at Christian education conferences and Christian schools.

Hall and his wife, Sarah, are the parents of two children, Esther and Nathan.
