AUGUSTA – Nancy M. Waterhouse, 76, of Augusta, passed away May 9, from a long illness, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, with her family by her side.
She was born in Hallowell on July 25, 1930, to Beulah (Young) and Russell Knox. She was educated in Hallowell and Gardiner schools.
In 1958, she married David Waterhouse and raised four children. Besides being a hardworking mother and wife, Nancy worked at W.T. Grants was a school crossing guard and a laundry attendant at the Randolph Polyclean.
Some of her favorite pastimes were her weekly shopping trips with her sister, taking a road trip to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, various card games, family gatherings and she enjoyed the people and activities at the Kennebec Plaza.
She is survived by children, Janet, and husband, Dana Damren, of Augusta, Brian, and wife, Kim Waterhouse, of Pittston, Jon Waterhouse of Augusta and Rusty, and wife, Helen Waterhouse, of Randolph; sister, Shirley Roy of West Gardiner; brothers, Randy, and wife, Jean Knox, of Randolph and David, and wife, Cheryl Knox, of West Gardiner; grandchildren, Melissa, and husband, Zack Delehanty, of Auburn, Kristina, and husband, Bernie Roderick, of Waterville, Jennifer Waterhouse of Riverside, Calif., Liz Waterhouse of Riverside, Calif., Jason, and wife, Amber Waterhouse, of Randolph, Michael McLaughlin of Randolph, Matt McLaughlin of Augusta and Amber, Jasmine, Nicholas and Parker Waterhouse of Augusta; great-grandchildren, Brendan Roderick of Waterville, Emma Waterhouse of Randolph and soon to be baby, Delehanty of Auburn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, David.
Special acknowledgment to the nurses, respiratory therapists and doctors in the Critical Care Unit of MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. Your care and compassion were matched by her spunk and lively attitude. Thank-you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
