BERWICK – William F. Schoppe III, 70, of Berwick, passed away comfortably in his home on Wednesday, May 9, after a long illness.

He was born on July 4, 1936, in Lewiston, a son of William F. and Phyllis Robinson Schoppe Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cynthia; his four children, William F. IV, Janet Hassain, Stephen Schoppe and Sandra Nelson; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven sisters; and two brothers.

He has been a resident of Berwick for 48 years and served four years in the Air Force. He was a member of Echo Lodge 52, Maine Antique Power Association, Granite State Gas and Steam, New England Model Engineering Society and The EAA.

He will be missed by many.
