NORWAY – Lloyd Albert “Joe” Cole, 74, of Greenwood, died in Norway on Friday, May 11.

He was born in Springvale on March 9, 1933. He was the son of Albert and Lauraine (Lessard) Charron and was educated in Locke Mills schools.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loving the out-of-doors, and was a graduate of the Maine State Criminal Justice Academy.

Joe had been employed at Ekco House Wares Co. in Locke Mills, a house parent at the Rumford Boys Home, a corrections officer at the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department, the U.S. Forest Service in Bethel, a night watchman at Gould Academy, and as a cameraman for Channel 2 Public Television in Bethel.

He had been a member of the Greenwood Planning Board and attended the Bethel Alliance Church.

He is survived by one son, Michael Cole and his wife, Annette, and their children, Thomas and Andrew, all of Berlin, N.H.; and one daughter, Sherry Dumais and her husband, Donald, and their children, Jonathan and Katheryn, all of Bow, N.H..
