WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, for refreshments at the Grange Hall, Old Lewiston Road. A business meeting, program and memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

AUBURN – Tranquil Lodge 29, AF and AM, will hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the lodge hall, 1021 Turner St., for the purpose of working the Fellowcraft degree. All Master Masons, as well as Fellowcrafts, are welcome.

LEWISTON – “Look Good … Feel Better,” the American Cancer Society’s program for assisting women who are faced with appearance changes resulting from cancer treatment, will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 16, at Central Maine Medical Center’s Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center, 12 High Street, Suite 103.

Garden speaker
AUBURN – The Woman’s Literary Union Garden Club will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St. Tiffany Stewart of Landscape World, Lisbon Street, will speak on container gardening. She will explain what plants work best, types of containers to use and arrangements. She will also create a container garden. Melanie Ness is in charge of hospitality. Refreshments will be served and guests are welcome.
Distribution day
AUBURN – Auburn AC SERVE, a part of SERVE New England’s food and volunteer program, will have its Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, Whitney Street entrance. Registrations for June also will be taken.

LEWISTON – A Taize service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Trinity Episcopal Church, corner of Spruce and Bates streets. The meditative service is modeled on the prayer services of the ecumenical community of Taize, France. All are welcome. POLAND – The Nettie Ricker Art Gallery located on the third floor of the Maine State Building in Poland Spring is accepting submissions for upcoming shows. It is an open juried exhibit and all mediums are welcome. Contact Genme Fuller, art director, at 998-2497 for details.
