AUBURN – Mary Vina “Vinie” Spugnardi, 88, of 460 Minot Ave., Auburn, formerly of 35 Jefferson St., Lewiston, and for 20 years a resident of New Port Richey, Fla., died on her birthday on Saturday, May 12, at Clover Manor.

Born in Lewiston on May 12, 1919, she was the daughter of Emile and Agnes Caron Simond.

Educated locally, she was married to Antonio Spugnardi in St. Patrick’s Church on Sept. 7, 1936. He passed away on July 27, 1989.

A member of St. Patrick’s Parish, she also was a former member of the Paisanettes and the Daughters of Isabella, enjoyed traveling worldwide, and was an accomplished ballroom dancer, winning many trophies.

While in Florida, she was a champion shuffleboard player three years running.

Survivors include two sons, Robert and wife, Linda, of Lewiston, and Richard of Brentwood, Tenn.; a daughter, Mary Ann and husband, Herbert Dobbins, of Windham; eight grandchildren, Doreen and husband, Mike Rancourt, Laurie and husband, Jim Frederick, Angela Spugnardi and fiancé, Steve Washburn, Richard and wife, Beth Spugnardi, Anne Marie and husband, Daniel Choinard, Donna Spugnardi, Krista and husband, Bruce Couturier, and Kirt and wife, Corinne Dobbins; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Percy Simond; and five sisters, Nellie Richards, Mildred Champagne, Mabel Jolin, Celia Cloutier, and Myrtle Tardiff.
