AUBURN – Gladys B. McKenney, 90, a resident of 26 Bolster St., died Tuesday, May 8, at Bolster Heights Nursing Home, after a long illness.

She was born in Bowtown, Nov. 26, 1916, the daughter of Guy and Alta (Powell) Bean.

She attended Caratunk schools and was a 1932 graduate of Caratunk High School. After high school, she married her first husband, Thomas Harris, who died in 1937, and married her second husband, Henry McKenney in 1942, and he died in 1985.

She worked in the housekeeping department of several Portland hotels retiring in 1991. She was an avid reader who loved and cared for her family.

Survivors include two sons, Chester Harris, and his wife, Nancy, of Turner and Gary McKenney of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Carey Danforth, and her husband, David, Scott Harris, and his wife, Lisa, Mark Harris and Kelly Avenall; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
