RUMFORD – Jeannette L. Marr, 80, of Maple Street in Rumford, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 13, with her family at her side.
She was born on April 1, 1927, in St. Adalbert de L’Islet Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Darie A. and Octavia Corriveau. She attended Canadian schools.
She married Earl L. Marr Jr. on Aug. 12, 1950, in North Conway, N.H. Together, they raised seven children. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church.
She was a homemaker all of her life, and enjoyed cooking, cleaning, knitting and sewing. She had a great love of nature and enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds and squirrels. She loved visiting family and cherished the times spent with all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Earl L. Marr Jr. of Rumford; six children, Dennis D. Marr of Peru, and his fiancé`, Bette, Danny J. Marr, and wife, Virginia, of Woodbridge, Va., Erla J. Marr-Gamage, and husband, Dean, of New Sharon, June E. Giambattista, and husband, John, of Rumford, Janice E. Durland of Rumford and Joan E. Hamann, and husband, Roger of Peru; a sister, Muriel Couillard of Quebec, Canada; four brothers, Denis Corriveau, and wife, Nancy, of Canton, Yvon Corriveau, and wife, Maxine, of Gilead, Lauriat Corriveau, and wife, Cleo, of Greenwood and Fernand Corriveau, and wife, Beverly, of Gilead; 12 grandchildren, Kristen and Jillian Marr, Daniel Gamage, Jennifer and Ryan Giambattista and Jody Raio, Christian and Alexandria Durland, Eric, Michelle, and Austin Hamann, and Courtney Mease; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Giambattista and Brett Raio.
She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Jacqueline Mease in 1990; two sisters, Louisette Deschesne and Marian Dupont; and seven brothers, Leonide, Jean-Paul, Rosaire, Roger, Florian, Yvonho and Yves.
