FREEPORT – Sophomore second baseman Casey Parker had a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning to break a tie and put the Saints up for good as St. Dom’s notched a 13-5 win over Freeport in baseball action Monday.

Sophomore center fielder Gregory LaBonte capped the game in the seventh inning with a three-run blast for the Saints (7-1).

Starting pitcher Matt Mettuer helped knot up the game in the Falcons’ (2-6) three-run fifth inning with a two-run single.

Georges Valley 5, Livermore Falls 2

LIVERMORE FALLS – Four Georges Valley pitchers held the potent Livermore Falls offense to four hits for a 5-2 victory and spoil a fine pitching performance by Jake Marceau.

The Buccaneers (3-6) scored a pair of unearned runs in the first, before adding a solo home run by Brendan Staples in the fourth and two more in te sixth on Travis Carpenter’s two-run double.

Livermore Falls (7-2) fought back with a solo home run by Kevin Gats and an RBI single by Josh Tainter. Gats had two of the Andies’ four hits.

Marceau scattered seven hits and struck out 11.

Poland 13, York 5

YORK – Will Griffiths lit the fuse on an eight-run fifth inning with a two-run triple, pushing Poland past York, 13-5, in WMC baseball Monday.

In addition to his three hits, Griffiths also picked up his third win of the season with 4 2/3 innings of four-hit relief for the Knights (9-1). Tyler Merchant added two singles, and Kyle Kyllonen cranked a double for Poland.

Ryan McGlashing singled twice for the Wildcats, who led 4-3 entering the fifth.

Mt. Blue 9, Leavitt 1

TURNER – Adam Gilbert and Justin Lowe each belted a home run to hoist Mt. Blue past Leavitt, 9-1, in KVAC baseball Monday.

Bobby Duley added two doubles for the Cougars (4-5), while Brad Dority slapped a double and a single. Ryan Given allowed five hits and struck out six to nab the complete-game triumph.

Matt Paladino singled twice to lead the Hornets (2-8).

Oak Hill 12, Lincoln 6

NEWCASTLE – Junior center fielder Tom Edgecomb had an outstanding performance with four RBIs as Oak Hill sailed to a 12-6 victory over Lincoln Academy.

Starting pitcher junior Chris Ellis struck out six batters through six innings to notch the win for the Raiders (6-5), while Edgecomb came on in relief. Junior right fielder Jared Parkin had a pair of hits and two RBIs.

The Eagle’s (3-6) shortstop, Brendan Moran, had a game-high three hits in the losing effort.

Lacrosse
St. Dom’s 12, Massabesic 2

SOUTH WATERBORO – Simon Hebert, Matt Barlion and Evan Gove netted two goals each and Trevar Haefele and Ben Horton combined to make four saves to lead St. Dom’s to a 12-2 win over Massabesic on Monday.

Ten different Saints (2-4) recorded at least a point in the win, with Barlion and Hebert collecting three each.

Nick Lund and Ben Comeau had a goal each for the Mustangs (1-5), and Colby Robinson turned aside 12 shots in the loss.
