Club luncheon

FARMINGTON – The annual membership meeting of the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club will be held on Tuesday, June 5, at Trinity United Methodist Church. There will be a luncheon at noon, put on by the United Methodist men, and the cost will be $8.

Those planning to attend should contact Marion Hutchinson at 645-2067 by May 28 to verify and reserve a lunch. Paul Mills will be the guest speaker, with a program on the history of the Maine grange. Those interested in joining the club are invited to become members, and dues for the new year, $10, will be collected.

Weather seminar

FARMINGTON – The Kennebec River Sail and Power Squadron is offering a weather seminar featuring “On Board Weather Forecasting.” The course is designed by the nonprofit U.S. Power Squadron. Class will be held held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Mt. Blue High School. Cost is $35 for non-squadron members, $30 for members. Contact Bob Withrow at 562-8174 for more information.
