LEWISTON – Paul E. GrandBois, 57, of 11 Victor St., Lewiston, after years of failing health, joined his parents, sister Lucille and parents-in-law in Heaven shortly after arrival at Central Maine Medical Center on Friday, May 11.
He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 6, 1949, the son of Edgar and Blanche Toutain GrandBois. He attended local schools and joined the U.S. Navy in 1968. He was stationed in Quonset Point Naval Air Station in Rhode Island, as well as aboard the aircraft carrier USS Wasp/CVS18.
He married his soul mate Janie Boucher, a longtime employee of CVS Pharmacy, on July 28, 1984, and they made their home in Lewiston. For many years he was employed by Gladu Roofing and then for 15 years at Lewiston Public Works, where he retired in 2002 due to ill health.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, but most of all fishing. He was a proud member of the Webber Avenue Club and an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He loved cooking for his family and friends and was a true and loyal friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Janie; his sister, Rena GrandBois; a sister-in-law, Diana (Boucher) Srebnick, and her husband, John; their sons, Brian, and his wife, Michelle, nephew, Nolan and niece, Sophia Grace, and Darren of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, James, and his wife, Ann (Gwarjanski) Boucher and their children, Ryan and Laura, all of Mandeville, La. He will be sadly missed by his beloved pet, A.C. Maddison; as well as his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Lucille; his maternal grandparents; his paternal grandmother; and his beloved Yorkie, Whitney Thereasa.
