I am amazed how many excuses there are for the high gas prices. Last year, it was the big storm – Hurricane Katrina – that damaged the oil rigs and such. That, at least, was reasonable.
This time, though, I find it hard to believe the excuses.
Supply and demand, oil company officials cry out. Simple as that.
I think not, not this time.
This time, I am starting to agree with my liberal friends. There is a reason behind all the gas price madness: money with a capital M.
Let’s see here … property taxes increasing, water rates going up, electricity rates going up, but my pay staying right where it was a year ago. Those increases spell big trouble for many people in this state. Even with all that, the state is finding new ways to extract more money from taxpayers. Yet we keep electing the same people over and over again.
Until the people of this state wake up and see how easily these elected officials can spend the money we don’t have anymore, more and more people will fall through the cracks of despair.
I have heard that the state may add a gas tax on top of the high price we are paying now.
Let’s keep on electing these bozos, shall we?
