Retirees to meet
LEWISTON – The National Active Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the Ramada Inn. Speaker will be Detective Lee Jones with the Lewiston Police Department. He will discuss elder safety issues and abuse.
This will be the last meeting of the season. Members should bring ideas for next year’s speakers.
Those working for the federal government or retired from the federal government are invited to attend the meetings.

Reiki is topic
LEWISTON – “Reiki for People Living with Cancer” will be the topic of discussion at a meeting of the Cancer Wellness and Support Group at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Reiki master Sandra Carslick, a practitioner at Hearts and Hands Inc. in Bath, will discuss the principles and benefits of Reiki, a spiritual healing technique used in the treatment of physical, spiritual, emotional and mental diseases. She will demonstrate Reiki and teach participants simple energy work practices that they can use on their own.
The program will be offered from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Conference Room I at CMMC. The CMMC Cancer Wellness and Support Group is open to people living with cancer, as well as their spouses/partners, family members and caregivers.

Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on May 15 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners were: tied at first, David Lock and Patricia Garcia with Michael True and Anna Vitiello; third, Leslie Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren; fourth, Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin.
Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the center.
The club also met on May 16 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners were: first, Jim Flanagan and Lucille Theriault; second, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; tied at third, Luke Merry and Paul Barber with Claire Lyons and Marta Clements.
Another game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed at both games. For more information and/or a partner, call Lucille Theriault at 783-0431.
