OXFORD – The Oxford County Fair directors have designated the theme of the 162nd fair, to be held on Sept. 12 to 15, as “Hidden Heroes Walk Among Us.” At the fair, 25 heroes from everyday life will be honored for contributions to their worlds.

Oxford County residents, ages 14 and up, are invited to send a letter of nomination for any individual who has impacted their lives. The honorees, ages 14 and above, must be living residents of Oxford County.

Between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, the 25 finalists will be honored in a Festival of Recognition with song, praise and awards.

The Oxford County Fair has a legacy of promoting and sustaining the values of life in rural Western Maine. While it is an old American institution, the fair reflects and embraces economical and social changes while supporting the daily lives of the residents.
